An introduction, updates, and new art!

Greetings and felicitations to all my companions on this art adventure!

It’s about time I got this ship sailing and get this newsletter off the ground. I’ll be honest - I’ve been putting this off because it somehow felt scarier than posting on social media. I can’t quite put my finger on why - maybe the open ended freedom of it, or maybe simply because it’s new.

Regardless, here we are, ripping off the band-aid!

A quick intro on my part, to anyone that might not know me all that well:

My name is Nika (or Ryuutsu in online circles), and I’m a freelance digital artist originally from Slovenia, but currently based in the Netherlands. I love imaginary worlds and painting characters that fit into them, mainly tackling subjects in the realm of stylized fantasy. I’m 30 years of age (yes, still coming off of the 20s existential crisis) and mainly exist in the perpetual void of (over)thinking life, the universe and everything, with the occasional visit to the dad jokes realm. I love nerding out over all kinds of fictional stories, D&D, dinosaurs, miniature dollhouses and video games. It’s a pleasure to have you join in!

Current happenings:

• I’m currently in the process of looking for part time/full time jobs. Full disclosure - freelancing has been incredibly fulfilling, but less so financially. So I’m currently looking to supplement my income and build a financial cushion.

• Starting the next commission batch, as well as a fun commercial project!

Allure is an enchantment wizard aasimar who ended up unwillingly working as a spy for the enemy villain league. She was a vessel for a demon lord, but when she died on a mission she released it.
